Tom Wilson's profanity-laced tirade caught on hot mic.

There's been an intense rivalry between the Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins for quite some time now and, although a mutual respect has formed between these two teams over the years, that rivalry was alive and well on Sunday when the two Metropolitan Division rivals went head to head once again.

It was a one-sided affair on the scoreboard but despite that we still got some signs of the animosity between these two teams, notably thanks to Capitals enforcer Tom Wilson. Wilson was a thorn in the side of his opponents as he often is during big games for the Capitals, doing so both on the ice and in terms of the trash talk as well.

Although Wilson could be seen barking at the Penguins all game long, we were lucky enough to catch some of the sweet nothings he was whispering the way of the Penguins during the final moments of the game. With less than a minute left to go in the third period, Wilson's profanity laced tirade would be caught on a hot mic as he yelled obscenities towards the Penguins bench.

"Fight! Fight! Have a fight! You bunch of pussies," Wilson yelled from between the benches.

It is unclear who the comments were directed at, although the broadcast did pan over to Penguins forward Elmer Soderblom as if to show he was the target of Wilson's outburst. Judging by the wording of Wilson's comments however I suspect he was directing his words at more than just Soderblom, who isn't exactly known for dropping the gloves.
