The Detroit Red Wings faced the Pittsburgh Penguins last night at Joe Louis Arena, and despite the loss, the final score was not the biggest cause for concern. With 4:11 to go in the third period, Tomas Tatar was slightly shoved in the back, which caused him to collide with a member of the officiating crew. The linesman jumped in the air to avoid the player, but instead ended kneeing him right in the face. Tatar was clearly shaken up by the hit, tried to get up by himself, but required help to get off the ice. Although we all know last season was plagued with injuries, and that we already have Datsyuk and Mantha on the mend, Coach Babcock made sure to state that Tatar “will be fine”.
