On Wednesday Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock surprised many by moving National Hockey League veteran forward Patrick Marleau to the center position, but it seems to have paid off early.

While Marleau was not credited on this goal, less than 10 minutes into the game the Maple Leafs took a 1-0 lead after James van Riemsdyk and Connor Brown hooked up for a great play.

It may be too early to credit Babcock as a genius considering that the guy he moved onto the line didn't have a great deal to do with the goal itself, but despite that it has to be considered a great start for this new line.
