TOTAL ANARCHY! (VIDEO)

In the game of hockey there are clean hits and dirty ones, this hit ladies and gentlemen is filthy. In last night's 5-2 victory over the defending Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings, Kings forward Jordan Nolan delivered a textbook hit from behind on Red Wings forward Darren Helm. Not a single person missed it as it was blatant and unnecessary. If Nolan thought the Red Wings would let this one slide, he was sorely mistaken. In the seconds after the hit, the game quickly degenerated into what can only be described as absolute anarchy on the ice. Wings' defenseman Jonathan Ericsson took exception and quickly tackled Nolan to the ice, as both teams engaged in the melee. The officials assessed two penalties, a boarding call on Nolan for the hit, and a roughing penalty on Ericsson for the retaliation. Although this was not the prettiest sight to see, it is god to know that the Red Wings have each others backs at all cost.
