A last-second scramble, a puck loose in the crease, and a desperate save seal a stunning finish. It doesn’t get much crazier than this.

With seconds left to last night’s game and Minnesota goalie Jesper Wallstedt pulled for the extra attacker, the Wild came within inches of tying the game at the buzzer against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Quinn Hughes fired a shot that got a piece of netminder Spencer Knight, but the puck trickled dangerously behind him, sitting loose in the crease with chaos erupting all around.

That’s when Alex Vlasic stepped in and lunged into the crease and swept the puck underneath his own goalie before a Wild player could pounce, preserving the lead in a jaw-dropping final sequence. Sticks were flying, bodies crashing, and for a split second, it looked inevitable the puck would cross the line.

But it didn’t.

Watch the full sequence here:

The Blackhawks survived the madness, snapping Minnesota’s 19-game point streak against them and earning their first regulation win over the Wild since 2019.

A desperate scramble. A last-second save. And one unforgettable finish.
