Here is your report for this week's Insider Trading. Philadelphia Flyers: Vincent Lecavalier’s time with the Philadelphia Flyers certainly seems to be numbered. Ron Hextall has been trying to get a deal done for the 34 year old center but unfortunately there simply are not that many takers. Very few teams can afford Lecavalier’s $4.5 million dollar annual cap hit. But things may start to turn around as TSN analyst and NHL insider Darren Dreger reported earlier today that Lecavalier is considering retirement after the end of next season. If this report is accurate the options regarding Lecavalier begin to open up. If Lecavalier were to retire after next season the Flyers would save his$4.5 million dollar annual cap hit, and it may make him interesting to a team looking to sign the center short term. With big decisions on the horizon for Ron Hextall, the importance of this news can not be understated. That money could go a long way, both in terms of trying to make a move, or freeing up cap space to sign one of the Flyers young stars (Voracek) long term. Los Angeles Kings: Today the  NHL fined the Los Angeles Kings organization following an incident that saw Slava Voynov practicing with some of his teammates today. The league announced the fine via NHL.com"
"Voynov skated with teammates today during a Club practice. Such activity is in direct contravention of the terms of the suspension levied Oct. 20, which permit Mr. Voynov to use club facilities and work with team personnel but prohibit his participation in any team-related functions or activities."
Voynov has been suspended indefinitely by the league following an incident of alleged domestic abuse between him and his wife. Voynov is schedule to appear in court this month after pleading not guilty to felony charges. The Kings have been dangling Voynov, and this mess likely means their patience with his off the ice issues has grown even thinner. $100,000 dollars is serious cash for a player simply stepping on to the ice at practice. St. Louis Blues: It's official NHL legend Martin Brodeur has signed with a team other than the New Jersey Devils for the very first time in his storied career. According it Nick Cotsonika of Yahoo! Sports Brodeur has signed a one year deal worth $700,000 plus a whole bunch of incentives in his contract including an additional $10,000 for each point he earns the team  while between the pipes. Talk about a powerful motivator for victory! However Pierre Lebrun spoke to the native of Quebec and it appears Brodeur believes he may not be with the Blues all season, in fact when Brian Elliot makes his return the Blues may look to make a trade. The question now becomes when will Brodeur, who spent the previous 21 seasons of his NHL career with New Jersey, make his St. Louis Blues debut?  The Blues have a back to back games this week, that is likely when we will see Brodeur make his debut. One would expect Jake Allen will start Wednesday against the Hawks, and if the Blues decide to give him the following night off, Brodeur would get the start against Nashville. I for one will be paying close attention to Brodeur's performance this season. Edmonton Oilers: Despite multiple rumors for the past several weeks suggesting that the Oilers would be making major trades, it appears that the talks have died down recently. According to Daren Dreger Craig MacTavish has not been happy with the offers he has received and has pulled back from talks. The Oilers clearly need a chnage, but it's a good sign for Oilers fans that the organization is at least waiting for a decent offer. That's your weekly insider trading report!
