Huge night for Bertuzzi.

This is pure speculation on my part but something tells me that young Tyler Bertuzzi likely has a new found appreciation for the Red Wings faithful after last night.

On Saturday night the Detroit Red Wings faced off against the Minnesota Wild at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul Minnesota and it rapidly turned into an ugly night for the Wild and the home crowd that was largely there to support them. The Wild were largely dominated by the Red Wings during the contest and after 60 minutes had expired the Red Wings had cruised to a dominant 5 - 2 lead, something the Red Wings have not become accustomed this season given their overall struggles.

That effort from the Red Wings was propelled in large part thanks to a huge game for the aforementioned Bertuzzi who picked up his 1st career hat trick over the course of the game. It was thanks to his willingness to fight the hard battles in front of the net that Bertuzzi was able to hit pay dirt 3 different time over the course of the game. Bertuzzi started off his hat trick with a nice deflection in front of the net that completely fooled veteran goaltender Devan Dubnyk and although his second goal took a different trajectory it was scored in a similar fashion, this time with a deflection that followed a point shot from Red Wings star forward Dylan Larkin.

It was Bertuzzi's 3rd goal however that really wowed fans who were tuning in to the game as it was created entirely by Bertuzzi's hard nosed playing style and his commitment to never giving up on a play no matter how out of reach it seems. Bertuzzi created a loose puck in the Wild zone after he emptied his tank on a race for the puck along the boards, winning the race and creating an opening for his team. In spite of likely being out of gas at the moment Bertuzziu picked himself right back up, this after crashing hard to the ice after the race for the puck, and immediately positioned himself in front of the net.

That would be good enough for Bertuzzi's 3rd goal of the evening, and as you can see in the video below he was treated to a special surprise on the ice.

P.S. Someone actually held on to that thing for 3 freaking periods, that's some hardcore fandom right there.
