The Habs forward caught everyone off guard as Montreal gears up for Round 2. Watch below:
Juraj Slafkovsky is heading into the next playoff series with confidence… and a sense of humor.
After taking a big hit and dropping the gloves in the previous round against the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Montreal Canadiens forward was asked if he was feeling any lingering effects. His answer quickly turned heads.
“Well I think I’m good, ya know? I can’t really get much dumber. I don’t know what to say, I’m fine ya know? It didn’t really hurt, I’m just ready to go. I didn’t even miss any time. I just had to do that one concussion protocol but I guess that’s league rules, I can’t change that,” Slafkovsky joked, smiling as he brushed off any concern about his condition.
It’s the kind of response that perfectly captures his mindset right now: loose, confident, and ready for what’s next.
Watch here:
Slafkovsky was a major factor in the first few games of Montreal’s opening-round success, including a standout hat trick performance in Game 1, but knows he needs to do better.
Now with a new challenge ahead against the Buffalo Sabres in the second round, the focus now shifts to consistency.
If his play, and his attitude, are any indication, Slafkovsky looks more than ready to make an impact again.
