Vernon vs. Roy (Video)

The rivalry between the the Detroit Red Wings and the Colorado Avalanche in the mid to late 90's was unmatched in the NHL. The 5 playoff series in which both teams met were constant physical affairs. Often times things would get out of hand and player would deliver their own brand of justice as the referees looked on, unable to stop the carnage. In this classic brawl, Patrick Roy takes exception to the treatment of teammate Claude Lemieux. Roy looks for a dance partner, but bites off more thanhe can chew against Wings' goaltender Mike Vernon. This is classic. Enjoy!
