Things are bad in Boston right now, and this may be the most glaring sign of it yet. Veteran defenseman Dennis Seidenberg has come forward and offered to waive his no trade clause prior to the March 2nd deadline according to a report from Joe Haggarty. This is huge for any team currently looking to add a defenseman for a playoff run, because unlike a lot of the names currently on the market, Seidenberg has three more years left on his deal, at $4 million per, making him far more then just a rental player. More from Haggarty:
Dennis Seidenberg told he doesn't want to go anywhere, but he would waive his no trade if the Bruins "didn't want me anymore"
While we don't want to read to much into the comments from Haggarty and Seidenberg it seems like there could be some underlying issue here. Only time will tell if the Bruins, who are up against the cap, will make the move.
