Andrei Loktionov underwent offseason shoulder surgery after suffering an injury in the World championships while playing for Russia. The former 5th-round pick of the Kings in 2008 had appeared in 155 career NHL contests with the Kings, Devils and Hurricanes. Last season, Loktionov played in Carolina and New Jersey, scoring 7 goals and 22 points in 68 games. By November 28th we've learned of his signing with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, where he played 7 games back in 2007-08. In his first game back in the KHL, Loktionov scored his first KHL goal and adding an assist. The 24-years-old player found himself on a breakaway after a nice pass by Petri Kontiola, another former NHLer. Loktionov even had time to take a look behind him to see if any of his teammates was closing in before he put the puck behind the opposing goalie with a slick move!
