An incident between the Colorado Avalanche and Minnesota Wild benches has resulted in big fines for one team. The league's Department of Player Safety announced on Tuesday that Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog and teammate Cody McLeod have been fined the maximum allowable amount under the CBA for their roles a shouting match along the benches in the waning moments of the 3-1 Wild victory on Saturday. McLeod engaged in a fight with Minnesota forward Charlie Coyle with three seconds remaining in the game. McLeod was given a two-minute minor for unsportsmanlike conduct, five minutes for fighting and a game misconduct. Landeskog was ejected after leaning over to shout at the Wild bench. According to James Mirtle of The Globe and Mail,Landeskog was fined $5,000 for punching Mikko Koivu on the bench, while McLeod was docked $3,091 for his role. This is not the first time this season that both McLeod and Landeskog have been disciplined for acts like these. Just an all around dirty incident.
