VIDEO: Brooks Orpik takes a skate to the face tonight in the NHL.

It was another scary moment which saw a player getting struck by the blade of a skate. During the Tuesday night game between the Washington Capitals and New york Islanders, Capitals defenseman Brooks Orpik's face collided with the skate of his teammate Nikolay Kulemin. The injury occured with just minutes left in the first and Orpik immediately left the ice. You can see the video of the incident here courtesy of Sportsnet. be warned however the images are disturbing. Orpik demonstrated the toughness hockey players are renowed for and would return to the Capitals bench for the second period.
