We have done articles in the past regarding the age old tradition of Detroit Red Wings fans throwing Octopi on the ice, and you fans have responded with some of your own experiences in smuggling the symbol of Detroit hockey into games.
From what we gathered from your responses, it is an uncomfortably cold and wet process of strapping the octopi to your leg or under your shirt and sneaking it past security. Which is why this video is all the more impressive.
One Wings fan managed to smuggle an enormous octopus into the game on Tuesday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning. He decided to let it take flight during the national anthem, much to the delight of the rest of the fans in the stands.
The Wings emerged victorious by a score of 3-0.
