Team Canada's Nic Petan played the hero for his team as they advanced to the gold medal game by defeating Slovakia by a score of 5-1, on the back of Petan's hat trick. It was the greatest moment of Petan's career, a culmination of years of hard work. But it was not just a great moment for him, but also for one special person watching in the crowd. Petan's father, Franc Petan, was in attendance to watch his son's special moment.
