VIDEO: Jake Allen gets saved by his post after falling asleep on the job!

Jake Allen is likely thanking the hockey gods tonight for letting him escape this close call unscathed. During the third period of tonight's games the Carolina Hurricanes' Jeff Skinner flipped a puck into the Blues zone from center ice, and came just inches away from scoring. When the puck landed it took a strange bounce towards the net and Jake Allen who was asleep at the wheel didn't so much as move an inch to stop it. Luckily for Allen and the Blues the puck hit the post and slid across the crease and no harm was done. You can see the video below courtesy of the NHL. Allen will likely never be that casual about an incoming puck again.
