VIDEO: Jonathan Bernier's comments spawn new version of the Hockey Song featuring Nelson Mandela

Jonathan Bernier made a mistake at a Raptors event recently when he was asked about Nelson Mandela. When asked about the South African anti-apartheid revolutionary, politician and philanthropist, he mistakenly took him for someone else. He praised Mandela for his accomplishments “on and off the ice”. Bernier later apologized for his comments: “I’m embarrassed,” said Bernier. “I didn’t mean to offend him, his legacy. I got flustered with the red carpet and I was nervous. I think everyone makes mistakes and that was me that night.” Anyone can understand the mistake, it happens.
