It was a special night for Vernon Vipers forward T.J. Dumonceaux who was able to surprise his father with a special Movember presentation before a BCHL game against the Trail Smoke Eaters. Earlier this year Dumonceaux’s father Perry was diagnosed with prostate cancer. His son wanted to use the team’s Movember fundraiser to do something special for his Dad. So with this help of his teammates and an online campaign, the Kelowna native quietly went to work to try to raise $3,000 to donate to Cancer research on behalf of his father. On Saturday, November 29th the team convinced Dumonceaux's father to come onto the ice to supposedly present his son a "community award". Instead T.J. surprised his dad with his framed Movember jersey and a cheque for $5,641 to be donated to the Canadian Cancer society! Dumonceaux went on to score two goals that night and was named the game’s first star!
