Mason Geertsen was selected by the Colorado Avalanche 93rd overall in the 2013 NHL draft 2013. The 6'4", 212lbs defenseman currently plays for the Vancouver Giants in the WHL. This week, Geertsen attacked 5'10", 165lbs, Medicine Hat Tigers winger Chad Butcher in the 3rd period of the game between the two WHL teams. Geertsen swinged Butcher and started hitting the small forward, who was already down to the ice! Three officials and one of Butcher's teammates finally forced him to let go the Hat Tigers player.
