Following a Tuesday morning practice Zetterberg spoke to the assembled media and was highly critical of the Red Wings offensive performance. Zetterberg singled out and called out one member of the Red Wings in particular, himself. "This time of year I'm supposed to be there and put up points for our team and I haven't done that lately," said Zetterberg. "There's some games that I've been playing to my standards but too many games here lately, I haven't."Zetterberg however responded the way a true leader does, and made the best of an opportunity in front of the Hurricanes net to bury a beautiful backhand goal and get the Red Wings on the board early.
