In the dying seconds of overtime in Friday night's game between the Bruins and the Blue Jackets Milan Lucic and Dalton Prout dropped the gloves and threw down in fisticuffs. Only problem is, Lucic did not look ready to fight, and had not even dropped the gloves before Prout started throwing punches. The result left Lucic bloody and unhappy. Prout clearly needed an unfair advantage, as this was a clear attempt to get the upper hand early. With fighting dropping in the NHL, and many people calling for it to be phased out of the game completely, some new rules need to be instituted in regards to fighting if it is to remain in the game. Dale Weise pulled the same stunt against the B's this season, and a rule regarding dropping the gloves before punches are thrown in a fight could be implemented without much backlash from fans. Every NHL fan hates when the rules change too often, but this could be beneficial, especially considering that some players have gotten wise to the loophole. What do you fans think?
