Following the Detroit Red Wings 2-1 shootout loss to the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday, Mike Babcock got a bit fed up with answering questions and left abruptly. The team was without injured forwards Pavel Datsyuk, Erik Cole, and Riley Sheahan, and then lost Drew Miller early in the game. The Red Wings were outshot 34-17 on home ice by the desperate Senators and they have just four wins in its last 14 games. “You guys when you’re asking me these questions, you guys want to be negative more than me. I don’t want to do that, so this is what I thought: I thought our team competed real hard. I thought [the Sens] had more hands on deck than us and I thought they played faster than us. You guys have a good night.” With a potential first-round matchup versus Tampa Bay looming, Babcock's comments weren't all bad as he is still confident the team can win when whole. “I thought that was a huge point for our team,” Babcock said. “I’m optimistic by the time Boston gets to town (for Thursday’s game) we’ll have more hands on deck.” [iframe id=""]
