(VIDEO): NHL ref gets hit with a hard shot, goes down!

We all know how tough hockey players are. Whether it be, broken fingers, teeth or other various ailments they are subjected to on a nightly basis, you can always expect a hockey player to be back out on the ice if able. What you may not know is that NHL referees have to be tough as nails as well, as they are also sometimes victims of their own injuries. Take referee Tim Peel for example. Peel was the victim of an Alec Martinez shot directly to the ribs in Saturday night's matchup between the Anaheim Ducks and L.A Kings. Martinez tried to clear the zone, and instead left Peel in a heap on the ice. He needed some momentary help from the Kings trainers, but shook it off. Even the refs play through the pain!
