Despite the fact that he suffered a "season ending injury" it appears that Patrick Nemeth will be making his return to the Stars line up this season. Nemeth was believed to be done for the year after he suffered a nasty cut to his arm during a collision with the Flyer's R.J. Umberger. Umberger fell akwardly and his skate came up to slice Nemeth across the arm. At the time of the incident Dallas' head coach Lindsay Ruff had made the injury sound very, very serious.
“It was a real severe laceration,” said Ruff. “When I say severe, it’s probably an understatement.”
It wasn't just Ruff's prognosis that was dire, the team clearly believed he would be done for the season as well. However according to a report from Mark Stepneski, Nemeth was back at practice today and could be back in the line up for the Stars as soon as next week. Having the young defenseman back in their line up, especially after acquiring a new back up goaltender, could be huge for the Star's hopes of a playoff push. Fort those of you who missed the original incident, you can see the video here.
