On this day in hockey history, one of the greatest defencemen to ever play the game scored the most memorable goal in the history of the All-Star Game. Legendary Boston Bruins defenseman Ray Bourque scores the game-winning goal at the All-Star Game with 38 seconds remaining in regulation, much to the delight of the hometown crowd in Boston. Bourque, who appeared in the All-Star Game in each of his 21 seasons in the NHL, was named the Most Valuable Player for his last minute heroics. Bourque would finish his career with 410 goals and 1,169 assists for 1,579 points in 1,612 games.
