Video: Red wings lose star player before the season even begins.

According to Helene St. James of USA Today and the Detroit Free Press, the Red Wings will be without star forward Pavel Datsyuk for up to 4 weeks. Datsyuk was injured during the Wings first preseason game against the Pittsburgh Penguins when he was hit by defenceman Rob Scuderi. When watching the video it seemed like a relatively harmless hit from Scuderi, but Datsyuk got up and immediately headed to the bench. Although Datsyuk has not been the player he was in the past 2-3 years, this can't be seen as anything but a huge blow to the Red Wings start to the regular season.
