A pretty crazy incident occurred earlier this month during an international game between the Sault High Blue Devils, a team based in Michigan State, and the St. Mary's Knights from the province of Ontario. During the game a massive brawl erupted and the officials on the ice felt the need to get involved and separate the players, something that is usually considered part of their job. However according to a report from sootoday.com, the father of one of the kids in question filled a formal complaint with the police. Area Hockey Director of Officials Murray Meehan spoke to 95.1 radio following the game and had this to say.
“We had a small scrum in front of the net, all three officials were trying to separate players and maintain a little bit of order, which is what their job is after every whistle, one official was separating one of the St. Mary’s players from the Sault High player and had to actually use a little extra pull to get them apart, the player turned around and punched him
