On this day in 2007, one of the greatest performances by any Minnesota Wild player took place. Seven years ago, Wild forward Marian Gaborik stunned the hockey world by scoring 5 goals in one game as the Wild defeated the New York Rangers by a score of  6-3. Gaborik became the first player to score 5 goals in a single game since Mario Lemieux and Sergei Fedorov did it in 1996. It took 11 years before a player was able to record 5 goals and it just so happens that Gaborik was that man. Gaborik also recorded an assist, tying his career high for points in a game with 6. Only one other player has achieved the feat since Gaborik and no other Wild player has even come close. Could this be the single greatest performance by a Wild player in franchise history?
