Video: Young defenseman taken out with disgusting hit from behind.

Even though their well out of the playoffs and competing for last place in the NHL for a shot at drafting Connor McDavid first overall, the Coyotes have to be devastated. One of the most exciting up and coming defenseman in all of the NHL Oliver Ekman-Larsson was injured on Thursday night when he was hit/pushed from behind by Chicago forward Joakim Nordstrom. The hit was completely inexcusable, it's especially frustrating when you see a guy who is nothing more then a body on the bench like Nordstrom do this to a promising young player like Ekman-Larsson. The good news is the league will have a disciplinary hearing with Nordstrom, and hopefully they will throw the book at him. It's time to get these kinds of plays out of the game, perhaps more severe punishments for reckless incidents like this are in order.
