The Edmonton Oilers lost their 11th straight game in heartbreaking fashion last night to the the Winnipeg Jets.
The Oilers were up a goal in the final moments of the third period when Winnipeg Jet Dusitn Byfuglien scored off a deflection to send the game to overtime where the Oilers would eventually lose.
Oilers head coach Dallas Eakins spoke to the media after the game and I have to be honest, I can't believe the words that came out of his mouth.
“It’s frustrating knowing how this last month has gone,” he said, “but I’m more encouraged than anything right now with the way our guys played.”That's right, Eakins views last night's 11th straight loss as encouraging. It's a miracle with that defeatist attitude that the Oilers have only lost 11 in a row. Is it time to get out the pitchforks? I've got mine ready.
