Brad Marchand reveals what he was really eating during Game 3.
Brad Marchand finally comes clean after trolling hockey fans over the weekend.
Florida Panthers veteran forward Brad Marchand may very well be one of the most media-savvy players in the entire National Hockey League, and he demonstrated that once again over the weekend.
Marchand has become extremely comfortable dealing with the media over the years and that's why it came as little surprise when Marchand decided he would turn an interview on the Canadian broadcast of Game 3 into his own personal troll job on hockey fans. Marchand, who had been spotted going to Dairy Queen earlier in the week with his fellow Panthers teammates, was spotted eating something during the 2nd intermission of Game 3 and when he was asked what he was consuming by Sportsnet's Kyle Bukauskas, Marchand put on his troll cap.
"Yeah that's a little chocolate chip cookie dough Blizzard right there," admitted Marchand while grinning like a kid with his hand caught in the cookie jar. "You can't beat it, it's the best dessert in the world."
It was shocking to hear that a professional athlete would consume something like a Dairy Queen Blizzard between periods and the reason it sounded so absurd is because it was. On Monday, Marchand would fess up when confronted about the tale he had spun over the weekend, admitting that he was indeed trolling.
"It was honey. I was having honey," admitted Marchand as per The Athletic. "It was a spoonful of honey. Because I’m a bear. I've always loved honey. Actually, when I was growing up, I loved Winnie the Pooh, so I used to have a Winnie the Pooh bear and I would feed the bear honey."
Marchand admitted that his parents were not very fond of this practice given that his bear would end up fully covered in rock hard honey, but it seems his affinity for the substance hasn't faded over the years.
The only question now is, is Marchand trolling us all over again?
