Breaking: Las Vegas GM confirms he is in trade talks.
Golden Knights looking to make a trade, and perhaps more...
HockeyFeed
The Las Vegas Golden Knights had a clear draft strategy at the National Hockey League Expansion Draft, draft a plethora of NHL caliber defensemen in the hopes of flipping them for assets down the line.
Now it seems that the strategy orchestrated by Golden Knights general manager George McPhee is paying off, as the Golden Knights are currently being hit with a number of phone calls from around the league.
McPhee himself confirmed that he has been receiving trade calls regarding his defenseman according to a Sin Bin report, although according to that same report McPhee is currently evaluating his group of players before pulling the trigger on any deals.
The Vegas GM likely wants to analyze what he has in training camp, and once he has done so he will likely pull the trigger on one or several trades given the abundance of defensemen he currently has on his roster.
McPhee has not confirmed which teams he has spoken to thus far, although that comes as little surprise.
