Another netminder has been added to the Pittsburgh Penguins' lineup on Thursday. Alex D'Orio was signed to a three-year, entry-level contract.
The 18-year-old goalie was not selected by any of the NHL teams at the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, though he was ranked as one of the top 15 North American goalies by Central Scouting.
The young goalie had a 19-2-1 record with a 2.40 goals-against-average and a .903 save percentage with the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s Saint John Sea Dogs in 2016-17.
He attended the Pens rookie camp last week and landed a contract with the team.
