BREAKING: Washington Capitals' top defenceman reveals DEVASTATING injuries

It is common for players to reveal injuries suffered during the season or the playoffs after their team is officially out of the race for the Stanley cup. It was the case for Alexander Ovechkin, who admitted dealing with two injuries yesterday.

It is no different for his teammate, defenceman Matt Niskanen, who was not at a 100% during the season:

Niskanen says he dealt with a neck injury and a slight MCL injury in a knee during season but is healthy now.

The 30-year-old defenceman also commented on his team's tough elimination against the Penguins:

Niskanen: "Talent-wise and our potential is clearly there, but that’s all fluff for now. We need results.”

Niskanen recorded 5 goals, 34 assists for 39 points in 78 games with the Capitals during the regular season. He played 13 postseason games, in which he scored 1 goal and 3 assists.
