We have reached the stage of National Hockey League training camps in which teams around the league are forced to make difficult decisions, as witnessed by the over 20 players who were placed on waivers on Sunday.

The Boston Bruins are of course no exception to this and on Sunday the Bruins made some significant roster moves of their own when they slashed 10 players off of their training camp roster.

The Bruins have sent a large number of players down to their American Hockey League affiliate team, the Providence Bruins, and those players will now report to training camps in the AHL. The players who were sent down on Sunday are as follows:

Joey Abate
Luke Cavallin
Ty Cheveldayoff
Jackson Edward
Colin Felix
Ty Gallagher
Loke Johansson
Jake Schmaltz
Max Wanner
Simon Zajicek

There are some interesting names on the list including that of goaltender Simon Zajicek from the Czech League. Zajicek is coming off a very strong season with Litvinov HC where he had a 2.63 goals against average and a .927 save percentage and it will be interesting to see how his skills translate to the AHL.

There has also been a great deal of hype around 19 year old defenseman Loke Johansson. Johansson was originally selected in the sixth round (186th overall) of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft and is coming off of a strong season with the Moncton Wildcats, one in which his team captured the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's championship.

There will unfortunately be more cuts to come, so stay tuned for more news as training camps begin to wrap up.
