Monday mornings can be tough at times, but that wasn't the case for the Boston Bruins this week.

Monday has come with some tremendous news for the Bruins when both David Pastrnak and Charlie McAvoy took major steps towards their recovery from injury. McAvoy was back on the ice in a regular jersey for the first time since suffering his horrific injury, an injury that left him with a fractured jaw, and Pastrnak was back on the ice skating, albeit in a red non-contact jersey.

While that would be good news in its own right, things actually got even better from there. McAvoy and Pastrnak remained on the ice for the team's regular practice and were full participants, a sign that both men are nearing a return to action.

The Bruins have announced that both players will be traveling with the team on their upcoming road trip which is yet another sign that they are getting very close to their respective returns.

Although there has been no official announcement regarding a return from either man, Pastrnak and McAvoy themselves both said they were hopeful they would be able to play at some point in the road trip.

Pastrnak was pretty positive about his return to the ice, stating that he was happy to be back on the ice with his fellow Bruins teammates.

"I'm good yeah," said Pastrnak. "I got through practice, good to be back with the boys."

You can hear Pastrnak's comments about his return as well as his feelings about potentially playing on the upcoming road trip in the short clip below:
