It is still not confirmed if Boston Bruins defenseman Jakub Zboril will be back in the lineup when his team resume play on Saturday in Philadelphia against the Flyers, but he knows all about the pressure of making it back to the roster.

On Tuesday, he confided to reporters about the pressure he’s endured ever since he was pick in the first round of the 2015 NHL Draft. In the past games he took part in in Boston, Zboril showed promise, but reveals now how he’s felt the burden of the team’s big misses in that draft.

“I’m over it now, but it was especially hard the year after the draft. I was on social media at that time and I was just getting roasted every single day,” said Zboril on Tuesday. “And so I got off social media. I deleted Instagram, I deleted Twitter. Now I’m just on Facebook where I just have family members and people I know. And I feel that it’s really cleared up my head space. I’m more focused on what I should do and just not reading tweets about me.”

While the 24-year-old defender says he has gotten over it, he keeps putting pressure on himself to be a full-time NHL player. We hope he can be motivated by the desire to play and keep forgetting about fans and social media.

Keep your head up high, Zboril!
