Calgary's Matthew Tkachuk attempts to chop off Lucas Raymond's foot, no penalty (VIDEO)
Earth to NHL.....
So, apparently the theme of National Hockey League teams who play the Detroit Red Wings this season will be to try and take as many dangerous liberties with players wearing the Winged Wheel as possible, and there will be zero punishment.
We've already seen Tampa Bay Lightning forward Mathieu Joseph get off scot-free for dangerously boarding captain Dylan Larkin from behind, which of course resulted in a Larkin suspension for his retaliatory punch.
It was long afterwards that rookie forward Lucas Raymond was hit from behind by Columbus' Jack Roslovic, with zero penalty. And now, Raymond has once again escaped what could have been an injury when he was whacked in the shins by well-known pest Matthew Tkachuk of the Calgary Flames, all within sight of the on-ice officials.
Seriously, what is going on with these officials? Does the rule book no longer apply, or is this just the latest example of the glaring incompetence of the on-ice stripes?
