Coyotes officially close deal on 5,000 seat arena
Literally can't believe that this is happening. The NHL is so bush league.

The Arizona Coyotes have officially closed on their deal to move into Arizona State University's (ASU) 5,000 seat capacity Multipurpose Arena for the 2022-23 NHL season.
The Coyotes, of course, were essentially kicked out of their current home at Gila River Arena by the city of Glendale for repeatedly coming up short on monthly lease payments. I can't believe I'm typing this... but rather than move the team to another locale the NHL has approved the team to move into a literal minor-league capacity building until... well... we don't know when exactly. There are no binding plans for the Coyotes to build a new home in the Arizona desert anytime soon.
I know that I've dumped on the Coyotes a lot in recent months, but I literally cannot believe that the NHL is allowing this to happen. Imagine and NBA team or an NFL team moving to an arena/stadium that's smaller than a minor league arena/stadium. It would NEVER happen. The fact is that the NHL is the only major professional sports league that would allow this to happen and I'm still in a bit of shock that they've allowed the Coyotes to operate in this way. Get this team to Quebec City, Houston or Kansas City ASAP.
