Even MORE surgery on the way for Robin Lehner!

He's already slated to miss the entire upcoming season.

The Vegas Golden Knights are already severely behind the 8-ball as they enter the 6th season of their existence. Not only is starting goaltender Robin Lehner lost for the entire upcoming campaign after undergoing hip surgery, but the team was also forced to trade veteran scoring forward Max Pacioretty to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for literally nothing.

For Lehner, it's the latest chapter in a saga that still have many questioning why the team acquired him at the 2020 NHL Trade Deadline despite having the beloved veteran Marc-Andre Fleury in net.

And now, the extent of Lehner's surgical procedures that he'll be undergoing this offseason have been revealed. According to general manager Kelly McCrimmon, Lehner is undergoing a DOUBLE hip surgery - as in surgery on both hips.

"McCrimmon says Lehner is having double hip surgery," wrote Golden Knights beat writer Jesse Granger on Twitter. "Said he already had the procedure on one hip, and will have the other later."

There have been rumors persisting as to whom the Golden Knights could look to potentially acquire to start between the pipes in Lehner's stead, as they would certainly be throwing young Logan Thompson to the wolves if they were to make him their full-time starters despite his flashes late last season of showing he's a capable goaltender.
