Fans react to Mitch Marner’s lame response for lack of offensive production
Maybe he should stay off social media until he starts scoring…
Mitch Marner has little to say about his lack of offensive production and has told TSN’s Kristen Shilton that it does not matter what he says, fans expect him to respond with his stick on the ice.
The Maple Leafs are four games into their season and Marner has just one assist as chatter from the postseason keeps haunting the forward, as he managed zero goals and four assists through seven games. He remains focused on all the chances he’s gotten so far and that the puck will finally find the back of the net.
“Hopefully the puck goes in,” Marner said after the Leafs’ practice on Tuesday. “Passes the goal line.”
However, Marner stated that he does not need to do anything differently to make that happen.
“It goes in,” he said. “Get there around the net. Chances are coming, so I’m going to stay patient. Don’t want to force anything. Stay patient with the puck like I’ve been doing. Chances will come.”
Head coach Sheldon Keefe went on to say that Marner does not let frustration affect him and stays focused on the positive.
Well - maybe the guy should get frustrated to boil up some strong shots to find the back of the net!
Fans were quick to respond to Marner’s statement on his lack of productive offense as we know how loud they can get on the forward, who gets paid a whole lot of nothing at the moment:
The Leafs don’t play again until Friday, and so maybe Marner will be starving for goals. In the meantime, you bet that fans will keep him in check.
