You know things couldn’t get worse for the Montreal Canadiens? Think again.
On Wednesday during morning practice after GM Kent Hughes’ press conference, tempers flared on the ice and footage was caught of defenseman Alexander Romanov swinging at Cedric Paquette.
The images were caught by TVA Sports’ Marc-Andre Perreault, who heard the disturbance and caught the end of the tilt as teammates separated the two players in the mix.
TSN’s John Lu, who also witness the fight, explained that “Paquette got testy after Romanov rode him into the boards during a mini-game. Shoving and a punch thrown by Romanov in the ensuing scrum.”
It’s all here:
We have to admit we’re surprised this type of tension and emotions did not show up any sooner in this disastrous season in Montreal…
I feel like this could help the Habs. And right after it took place, Romanov skated over to Paquette and both players were seen talking about it and forgiving one another for the blow up.
Let's see that energy on the ice, boys!
