Flames president threatens the City of Calgary!

Things are already getting nasty in the controversial relocation discussions between the Flames and the city of Calgary.

Earlier today, the City of Calgary is offering to pay for one-third of the cost of a new National Hockey League arena. Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi revealed details Friday of what the city proposes to pay for a building expected to cost $555 million to respond to the Calgary Flames breaking off talks for a new rink earlier this week.

Flames president Ken King responded today and his comments made fans react.

The president also hinted that other cities are looking to land an NHL franchise and they could simply take their business elsewhere. Seattle and Quebec City come to mind when talking relocation and expansion. Quebec City already has a new NHL-arena, and Seattle plans on building one. A threat that could push the discussions more quickly.
