John Tortorella faces a very hard choice with the Stanley Cup on the line.
The Vegas Golden Knights are facing an uphill battle in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final with one of their most important forwards, William Karlsson, officially out of the lineup as per Golden Knights head coach John Tortorella.
The big question now is of course who will be the manned called upon to fill Karlsson's skates tonight with the Golden Knights facing elimination, and based on reports from those closest to the team it sounds like it's going to come down to two choices. According to Golden Knights insider Jesse Granger, the Golden Knights will look towards either veteran forward Brandon Saad, or towards one of the original misfits in Reilly Smith.
Thus far both men have seen limited use in the Stanley Cup playoffs with Smith appearing in just 6 games during this current playoff run while Saad has appeared in even fewer with just 5 playoff games under his belt in this current run. In terms of points there isn't much difference either with both men putting up a pair of assists for the Golden Knights in these playoffs despite playing in a limited number of games.
Tortorella would not reveal his cards when asked which of the men would suit up for him in Game 6, refusing to give an answer to reporters who will now have to wait until warm ups to get a better idea of which man will be getting the green light tonight.
This is a must-win game for the Golden Knights, so there will be no do overs if Tortorella makes the wrong choice tonight.
