Huge issue in Calgary delays Game 1 3rd period, worries team for following games
Uh oh…

The Calgary Flames got away with a 1-0 win over the Dallas Stars in Game 1 of the first round series on Tuesday night. Fans at the Saddledome were excited and might have not even noticed that the contest was delayed.
That’s right: the third period was delayed on Tuesday night as the ice was in bad shape after 40 minutes. According to Matt Rose of Sportsnet 960, it was about eight degrees hotter than usual in the Saddledome which lead to the delay to start the third.
The Flames and the arena crew will have to keep this in mind as Game 2 is just around the corner on Thursday.
The tweet does not say what might have caused the issue (attendance, weather, etc…) but we cannot help and make the joke that tempers flared earlier on in the game when Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk levied a clean hit on Stars defenseman John Klingberg. His Dallas teammate Michael Raffl confronted Tkachuk after the hit and the two fought. But then chaos ensued as Klingberg then decided to drop the gloves with Flames blue liner Rasmus Andersson.Klingberg and Andersson were ejected from the game shortly after, and each team had to play with five defensemen.
We love a heated series, but the Dome needs to keep up!
