It was big news earlier this month when goalie Tuukka Rask joined the Boston Bruins at practice. After all, general manager Don Sweeney told media that Rask will “likely be a part of our group” after he’s fully recovered from his hip injury and in game shape, though no contract is in place for the free agent.
In Boston at the moment, Jeremy Swayman and Linus Ullmark have split duties in net for the Bruins in the absence of the former Vezina Trophy winner.
Rask hasn’t played since he was pulled in Game 5 of the Bruins’ second-round series against the New York Islanders after suffering a torn hip labrum.
Updates have been exciting to hear out of BeanTown that Rask could return with the latest one being very significant: on Tuesday morning, the veteran netminder worked into the three-goalie rotation for the first time during a morning skate.
“Currently practicing against PP1, which was usually Jaroslav Halak’s job," reported insider Fluto Shinzawa of the Athletic.
All signs point to Rask returning to the Bruins somewhat soon. What deal do you think the Bruins get him signed to?
