Jack Hugues gets destroyed by Jeremy Lauzon, leaves in pain
More details here…
This is not what the New Jersey Devils’ fans want to hear, or see! But on Tuesday night, in an intense matchup against the NHL’s new expansion team the Seattle Kraken, poor Jack Hughes got hurt.
It happened towards the end of the first period when Hughes was battling to get the puck in the corner. He was then crushed into the boards by Kraken’s Jeremy Lauzon as he was pushed awkwardly and fell in pain to the ice.
He managed to get up on his own accord as the Devils’ trainer rushed to his side, though he was clearly hurting. Hughes was holding on to his left shoulder as he made his way down the tunnel.
He did not return after the first intermission. We await an update on his condition, though losing him would be a huge blow for the Devils.
Right back for the second period action, teammate Mason Geertsen went after Lauzon to make him pay for his hit on Hughes.
