Jets have reportedly hired coach Scott Arniel
The latest from Winnipeg and how it affects Barry Trotz's situation.
HockeyFeed
According to a report from Winnipeg Jets insider Murat Ates, coaching candidate Scott Arniel is a "virtual lock" to join the team's coaching staff... but will NOT be the team's head coach.
From Ates:
Arniel has been an assistant coach with the Washington Capitals for the past four seasons and has a history in Winnipeg as an assistant and head coach of the AHL's Manitoba Moose in two different stints. There was a rumor that he was in consideration to become the Jets' next head coach but it looks like the team is opting to go hard after Barry Trotz instead. Can't say I blame them... Trotz has a proven track record of success at every stop in his coaching career.
