Joe Thornton spears poor Boris Katchouk in the balls

You have to believe after so many years in the NHL, Joe Thornton knows better than this.

In the first period of a clash between the two Florida teams, the Panthers’ veteran was caught red-handed when he speared Tampa Bay Lightning’s Boris Katchouk right in the crotch.

The poor guy had no other choice but to fall to the ice in pain. This is the incident in question:

While Thornton was sent to the penalty box for slashing, we all can tell this is worse than that.

That had to hurt and Joe had to know it would!
