Golden Knights confirm huge lineup change for Game 3.

The Vegas Golden Knights are getting some huge news ahead of tonight's Game 3 in the Western Conference Final.

Golden Knights head coach John Tortorella has just spoken to the media and during that media availability Tortorella dropped a massive update on the health and status of injured Golden Knights captain Mark Stone.

According to Tortorella, the Golden Knights will see their captain return to the lineup tonight in Game 3, this after Stone was forced to miss several playoff games due to injury.

Stone last played in these Stanley Cup playoffs during Game 3 of the Golden Knights' second round series against the Anaheim Ducks. Stone was limited to just 4 minutes and 24 seconds of ice time in that game due to injury and has not returned to the lineup since.

That means that Stone missed the final 3 games of the second round as well as the first two games of the Western Conference Final, all of which points to this being a huge boost for the Golden Knights both in terms of talent on the ice as well as team morale.

Despite the fact that he has clearly been at less than 100% in these playoffs Stone is having another strong campaign with 3 goals and 4 assists for 7 points in just 9 games.

The Avalanche are of course hoping for a big return of their own with star defenseman Cale Makar still on the sidelines, but the update from their head coach Jared Bednar sounded far less promising.
